About World Hepatitis Day

Hepatitis is when the liver gets inflamed. Every year, 28 July is celebrated as World Hepatitis Day to raise awareness of the global burden of viral hepatitis. Though most forms of hepatitis are caused by viral infections, some foods can keep the liver healthy and keep it functioning effectively.

#1 - Coffee

Who knew that your daily cup of coffee would be beneficial to your liver? Yes, recent research has revealed that drinking coffee can reduce the risk of developing liver disease or fatty liver disease by 29%. The risk of death from liver disease was also lowered by 49%.

#2 - Grapes

Grapes are known to lower inflammation, increase antioxidant levels, and prevent liver damage. Besides these, grapes are also known to slow down ageing because of the antioxidant Resveratrol. If you wish to stop the ageing clock, it’s time to eat some grapes!

#3 - Beetroot

Beetroot, when juiced, is known to protect the liver from inflammation and oxidative damage by stimulating bile flow. Bile breaks down wastes to excrete them from the body faster.
