Poor gut health is not good for your brain! Here’s why

The World Health Organisation (WHO) states that a whopping 60% of dementia cases are caused by Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), a brain disorder that destroys memory. Recent research conducted on around 400 patients has found genetic links between AD and multiple gut disorders. Previous studies conducted on gut-brain connectivity also found that the gut microbiome might trigger the development of AD. These suggested that bacteria present in the gut can stimulate the production of inflammatory cells that are directly associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
