You may be experiencing folliculitis, which is inflammation of the hair follicles. You can try using an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream to reduce the inflammation and itching. Additionally, you can take an oral antihistamine like cetirizine to help with the itching. To prevent infection, you can apply an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin.
