Question

I've noticed that the skin around the outside of my right toenail has gotten really soft and there's this watery liquid forming. Is this something I should be worried about, like an infection, and what steps should I take to treat it?

This sounds like you may have a paronychia, which is an infection of the skin around the toenail. You can try soaking your foot in warm water with Epsom salts a few times a day to help reduce the infection. You can also apply an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin to the affected area. If the infection is severe or does not improve, you may need to see a doctor for further treatment.
