About IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule

IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer disease. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.

IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule is a combination of two drugs: Ilaprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Ilaprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Proton pumps are tiny substances in the stomach lining that help it make acid to digest food. Ilaprazole prevents proton pumps from working properly. This reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes. Domperidone works by increasing the movement of food through the stomach and the digestive tract more quickly and in this way reduces the feeling of bloating, fullness and indigestion. It also blocks messages between parts of your brain called the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and the vomiting centre. This stops you from feeling sick (nauseous) and prevents you from vomiting. Together, IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule helps treat acidity-related problems.

Take IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule as prescribed. You are advised to take IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, flatulence, dryness in the mouth, dizziness, and fatigue. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction. Do not take IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule if you have black, tarry bowel motions; blockage or tear in your intestines, disorder known as phenylketonuria, low potassium, or magnesium level. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule should not be given to children below 12 years of age. Avoid consuming alcohol and IIazine-Dsr 30mg/10mg Capsule as it could lead to increased drowsiness and elevate stomach acid production. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets irritated or eroded, which leads to complications like GERD, hyperacidity, peptic ulcers, and heartburn. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. Symptoms include heartburn, sour or bitter taste in the mouth, and difficulty swallowing.

Peptic ulcers: These are sores that develop on the stomach and intestine lining due to erosion of the stomach's protective lining. Symptoms include nausea, changes in appetite, bloody or dark stools, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, and indigestion.
