Question
I can feel my heartbeat when I'm lying down, even though my ECG came back normal. The doctor said it's anxiety, and I've been on Ciplar LA 20 for 45 days now. How long does it usually take for this medication to help with the problem? My heart rate is around 70 now.

Feeling your own heartbeat when lying down can be a common symptom of anxiety. Ciplar LA 20 is a brand name for propranolol, which is a beta-blocker used to treat anxiety and heart conditions. It is important to continue taking your medication as prescribed by your doctor. In some cases, it may take a few weeks to a few months to see the full effects of the medication. Since you have been taking Ciplar LA 20 for 45 days and your heart rate is now 70 beats per minute, it seems like the medication is helping to control your symptoms. It is important to follow up with your doctor regularly to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
