Question
I had CXL surgery for keratoconus 5 years ago and want to start going to the gym. Can I do strength training exercises like pushups, situps, lunges, planks, squats, and jumping jacks without worrying about increased intraocular pressure or my keratoconus getting worse?

Yes, you can generally do strength training exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, planks, squats, and jumping jacks after CXL surgery for keratoconus without worrying about significant increases in intraocular pressure (IOP) or your keratoconus progressing further. CXL surgery strengthens the cornea, helping to slow down the progression of keratoconus. While exercise can temporarily increase IOP, it's usually not a major concern for individuals who have had CXL surgery
