For an asymptomatic 2.5 cm gallstone, the general approach is "watch and wait". Elective surgery is not typically recommended for asymptomatic gallstones. While some individuals with asymptomatic gallstones may eventually experience symptoms and require surgery, the risk of complications from surgery in asymptomatic patients is also a consideration
