Question
I have a painful swelling near my anus but no bleeding, is surgery the only option or can it be treated another way? Also what foods should I stay away from to help with this?

It could be a perianal abscess or thrombosed pile; sitz baths, pain meds, and dietary changes help—surgery is needed only if it worsens.
