Question
I'm dealing with jaundice and my bilirubin level is 5.2, with the conjugate one at 3.5 and the unconjugate at 1.5. How long should I expect this to take before it improves? And is it okay for me to go to college while I'm dealing with this? I've been eating boiled foods, but I'm wondering if it's safe to have noodles or something similar while I'm recovering.

With a bilirubin level of 5.2, your jaundice is mild to moderate, and recovery time varies from person to person, but typically takes 1-4 weeks; you can attend college, but take regular breaks, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous activities; stick to a bland diet, and while boiled foods are good, avoid fattyspicy foods like noodles for now, instead opt for easily digestible foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast (BRAT diet),
