Question

I'm dealing with a sore throat and cold, and my doctor said it's pharyngitis. He prescribed azithromycin and told me to take 250 mg twice a day for 3 days. But before, another doctor gave me 500 mg once daily for 3 days for a similar issue. I also read online that the dosage for sinusitis is 500 mg daily for 3 days, while for pharyngitis, its 500 mg on the first day, followed by 250 mg twice daily from day 2 to day 5. I'm really confused about what the right dosage should be. Could you help me figure out the correct prescription?

This is the standard recommended dosage for treating pharyngitis caused by bacteria. It is important to follow the dosage and duration as prescribed by your doctor to ensure effective treatment and to prevent antibiotic resistance.
