Question
I'm really puzzled here. A while back, I got diagnosed with candidal balanitis and tried Flucan and Terbicip, which cleared up the balanitis but left these persistent red lines around the crown of my glans. They itch randomly, sometimes in the center, sometimes on the sides, and it's been like this for six months. I even tried Valcivir with no luck, and its not getting worse or better. It's just constant itching without any sign of infection. It's been two months since I stopped taking any meds. What's going on with me? Hoping you can shed some light on this.

It sounds like you may be experiencing residual symptoms of candidal balanitis despite previous treatment. The red lines and itching sensation in the center and sides of the glans crown end may indicate ongoing inflammation or irritation. Since antifungal medications like Flucan (fluconazole) and Terbicip (terbinafine) did not have an effect, and antiviral medication like Valcivir (valacyclovir) also did not help, it is possible that the current symptoms may not be related to a fungal or viral infection. I recommend trying a mild topical steroid cream like hydrocortisone cream to help reduce inflammation and itching. Apply a thin layer to the affected areas twice a day for about a week. Additionally, keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding irritants like harsh soaps or perfumes, and wearing loose-fitting underwear made of breathable fabric may also help alleviate symptoms. If the symptoms persist or worsen despite these measures, it would be best to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.
