Question

I'm really worried about my mom. She has a peanut caught in her throat. It's been almost 4 hours now. She's able to breathe fine, but swallowing anything is making her really uncomfortable. What should we do? Should we be seeing someone or is there something we can try doing at home to help her out?

It sounds like your mother may have a foreign body sensation in her throat due to the peanut. I recommend she take 1-2 tablespoons of liquid antacid to help coat the throat and reduce discomfort. Additionally, she can try eating a small piece of banana or bread to help push the peanut down. However, if the symptoms persist or worsen, she should seek medical attention immediately.
