I'm really worried about typhoid and how it's passed between people. Can it be spread through kissing or other close contact? How likely is it to be transmitted from one person to another this way?

Typhoid fever is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. It is typically transmitted through the ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Salmonella typhi. However, close contact with an infected person can increase the risk of transmission. It is important to practice good hygiene, such as washing hands regularly and avoiding sharing utensils, to help prevent the spread of typhoid fever. If you suspect you have been exposed to typhoid fever, antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin or Azithromycin can be prescribed for treatment.

I'm really concerned about my HIV status after having an unprotected encounter with a sex worker. I've taken several tests: an HIV Antibody Test at 21 days and at 2 monthswhich were both negativethen a CMIA Method test at 12 weeks, and a Rapid Test at 3 months. I decided to get some tests done, and the results showed my Typhi IgM is weak positive and typhi H is reactive up to a titre of 140. I'm not sure what this means. Does this indicate I still have typhoid, or is this a normal finding after having had it before?
