I've been dealing with a recurring fistula or abscess for the past two years it goes away for a few months but keeps coming back. I really don't want surgery, and while a recent round of antibiotics during dental treatment cleared it up temporarily, the issue returned. I've been having a lot of swelling and really bad pain in my perineum and one side of my anus. I can feel this firm lump near the anus opening and the whole perineum area is super swollen and firm too. It's incredibly painful and sometimes I get the chills and a fever from all the pain. I've been taking paracetamol to help a bit, but the pain just keeps coming back when it wears off. It's been like this for three days now, and it's just getting worse.
