Question

I've been noticing this odd breathing noise coming from my throat. It's like a hiss, hiss, hiss sound when I breathe in and out, but it doesn't happen all the time. It usually shows up when I'm short of breath after running. I feel okay, but the noise has me a bit worried. It's kind of like a high-pitched puffing noise. Any idea what might be causing this?

The high-pitched "hiss" or puffing noise you're hearing while breathing after running could be related to slight airway narrowing or a bit of congestion, which can occur when you're short of breath. If you're not experiencing other symptoms like wheezing, chest tightness, or discomfort, it may not be a major concern, but if it persists, it could be worth discussing with your doctor to rule out any underlying issues like mild asthma or respiratory irritation.
