I've taken my brother to two doctors and both recommended surgery, but they suggested different procedures. One doctor mentioned arthroscopic MPFL ligament reconstruction with loose body removal, while the other advised left knee arthroscopic osteochondral loose body removal. They found a small bone chip in his knee on the MRI. Do you think surgery is really necessary, and which procedure would be better for his case?

Both surgeries are valid for loose bodies and instability—arthroscopic MPFL is better if recurrent dislocations are present.

Got diagnosed with a meniscus tear after an MRI and the doctor recommended surgery. Just found out I have a meniscus tear and the doc says surgery is the way to go. Are there non-surgical treatments that could fix this or at least ease the pain? Meniscus tear confirmed by MRI and surgery is the recommendation. Wondering if rest, meds, or exercises could help instead of going straight to surgery?

It's been three months since my ACL and MCL surgery on my right knee, but I still have a very mild limp when walking. I can flex my knee up to 120 degrees and fully extend it, though it's still a little less than my left leg since that one hyperextends. Is this slight limp normal? I can climb stairs but only one at a time.
