Question
Dear Sir, My mother is an elderly patient with a history of dyspepsia, hypertension, and hypothyroidism. Her gallbladder was removed 8 years ago. She does not have diabetes, weighs around 95 kg, and is 68 years old. For the past 15 days, she has been experiencing pain in the groin area, which feels more like muscle or blood vessel pain rather than joint pain. I am wondering if this could be related to her elevated TSH level, which is reported as 7.8 in her latest lab report. She is currently taking Thyrox 100, Tazloc H 80, Metolar XR 50, Rose Day 10, and calcium supplements. I have attached her latest lab report and the most recent prescription for your reference. Please advise

TSH of 7.8 may slightly affect metabolism but is unlikely to directly cause groin pain. Pain could be muscular or vascular. Please repeat your TSH and get a pelvic ultrasound to check the cause of pain and adjust thyroid dose if needed. Thyroid dose may need adjustment.
