Do hospitals have to change needles after blood tests?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Yes it is mandatory. Do check it yourself that a fresh needle is inserted when you take a blood test.

View allI got my blood test done today, and after receiving the report, I noticed that only my lymphocyte count and ESR are outside the reference range. My lymphocyte count is 48, and my ESR is 28. I would like to know if this is something to be concerned about or if I need to take any medication for it.

Dear doctor, recently I fell sick and had fever and body pain. In fact, all my family members fell sick. My mother was diagnosed as dengue and typhoid positive. My daughters completely recovered. Their blood test results were negative for dengue, malaria, and typhoid. I was the last one to get sick. My test results for typhoid and malaria turned negative. On 02 Dec, Dengue IgM was negative (1.39 units) and IgG was equivocal (20.06 units) with platelets 1.40 lakhs/cmm. On 04 Dec, I again took a retest without my doctor knowledge. The results this time were: Dengue IgM 3.20 units (negative), IgG 52.46 units (positive), platelets 1.38 lakhs/cmm. Is there anything to be worried about, doctor? I would be glad if someone can explain why the IgG values have doubled? Thanks.

I am 50 years old and have entered menopause. My recent blood test results show a random blood sugar of 114 mg/dL, ESR of 41 mm/hr, creatinine of 0.6 mg/dL, absolute eosinophil count of 518, and uric acid of 5.7 mg/dL. I would like to know if these values are normal, and whether my creatinine level is considered normal or low. Please advise.
