Good Evening, Doctor. My mother recent blood report shows an elevated PDW value. Should we be concerned and get it checked further? She is also going through menopause (her periods stopped around 4 months ago). Could this be related? I have attached the report for your review. Thank you in advance.

A slightly raised PDW (platelet distribution width) without symptoms is not usually serious. It may be related to inflammation or hormonal changes in menopause. No specific treatment is needed if other counts are normal. Repeat the CBC after a few weeks to track changes.

I weighed 88 kg before and now I am 74 kg. My periods have become regular, coming every 30 or 31 days, but I am having heavy bleeding with large blood clots, feeling very weak, and experiencing pain on the right side.
