Good Evening, Doctor. My mother recent blood report shows an elevated PDW value. Should we be concerned and get it checked further? A slightly raised PDW (platelet distribution width) without symptoms is not usually serious. It may be related to inflammation or hormonal changes in menopause. No specific treatment is needed if other counts are normal. Repeat the CBC after a few weeks to track changes.

I started feeling unwell with body aches and a temperature of 100F. I took paracetamol, and my temperature returned to normal, but then I developed a cough and mild sore throat. In the morning, I felt cold and my temperature rose to 102F. I took paracetamol again, which brought it down, but the fever returned by 11 am. I consulted a physician and have attached his prescription and test report. After taking the prescribed medicines, I felt better, but I still feel very weak. Last night, I experienced restlessness, excessive sweating, and a rapid heartbeat for a few minutes. I am unsure what happened.
