I'm really struggling with my motions. For the past month, I've needed to go at least three times a day, and it's becoming quite an issue. Since I've been going to the gym for about a year and a half, I had to up my food intake, and it seems like that's when the motion problems started. I have gallstones and everyone keeps telling me I need to get my gallbladder removed through surgery. But I'm wondering can't they just take out the stones like they do with kidney stones? Why does the whole gallbladder have to go?

While kidney stones can sometimes be treated non-surgically or by breaking them up, the same approach for gallstones is less common and often not recommended. Gallstones in the gallbladder are generally removed with the gallbladder during a cholecystectomy
