Hello doctor, when is the right time to do a beta HCG test? I got a negative UPT. I was supposed to have my periods on 18th July, but they are irregular due to PCOD. I am on Normoz DS and taking folic acid. Please advise.

If you missed your period and have PCOD, the ideal time for beta hCG is 7to10 days after your expected date. Since your UPT is negative and its already late, do a Serum beta hCG Test now for confirmation. If its negative, continue Normoz and folic acid, and follow up with your gynecologist.

View allHi, I missed my period last month and took a pregnancy test, which was negative. I consulted a doctor, and she prescribed Meprate tablets for 10 days. I completed the course, and Thursday was the last day of taking the tablets, but I still have not gotten my period. How many days after stopping the medication does it usually take for periods to start? Please advise. Thank you.

My doctor has put me on progesterone suppositories since day 14 of my cycle to support a possible pregnancy. My period is four days late, and I have a negative home pregnancy test as well as a negative blood test. Can the progesterone suppositories be causing my period to be late?
