Hello, my baby is 7 days old. On the 4th day, she was diagnosed with jaundice and was admitted. I am attaching the reports. Please help me understand if she is improving. On the first day, her bilirubin level was 18.2 mg per dL, and today it is 11 mg per dL. She is being treated with phototherapy.

Yes, a drop from 18.2 to 11 mg per dL indicates clear improvement. Phototherapy is working, and the baby liver is processing bilirubin better. Continue phototherapy as advised. Ensure adequate breastfeeding to support bilirubin clearance. No reason to worry if the trend continues downward.

Bloating is also there and I also feel tremor in the abdomen. What is it?

My blood test shows Bilirubin (Direct): 0.6 mg/dL, Bilirubin (Indirect): 1.5 mg/dL, and Bilirubin (Total): 2.1 mg/dL. Are these levels normal or do they indicate a problem?
