Hey, I had a question about Rabipur injections. So basically, I got 5 shots of it around 14 years ago. I'm wondering if I need to get a booster dose now, and if it's something that lasts for life. Also, how many doses are we usually supposed to get anyway? Appreciate any advice!

It provides immunity for 10yrs.But if you have doubts of exposure to dogs, then getting a booster is no harm.

Overview of Rabipur and Rabies Immunoglobulin
- Rabipur is a vaccine that helps prevent rabies by stimulating antibody production. Rabies Immunoglobulin (RIG) provides immediate passive immunity post-exposure.
-
Typical Rabies Vaccination Schedule
- Rabipur is given in multiple doses for post-exposure prophylaxis. RIG is administered once at the start of treatment.
-
Duration of Immunity and Need for Booster
- Immunity from Rabipur is not lifelong. Boosters are generally unnecessary unless there's a new exposure or high-risk situation.
-
Recommendations for Your Situation
- No routine booster is needed now since you received 5 doses 14 years ago with RIG. Seek medical evaluation if there's a new potential exposure.
-
When to Consult a Healthcare Provider
- Consult a doctor if you experience any new animal bites or exposures. Rabies requires prompt treatment after exposure.
-
Summary and Reassurance
- Your past vaccination and RIG were appropriate. No booster is needed unless new exposure occurs.

View allHey, I'm really confused about something I came across in my test results. It mentions STyphi O 180, and I'm worried whether it indicates typhoid or some other condition. I don't have much knowledge about this, so any clarity you could provide would be super helpful.
S.Typhi O 1:80 refers to a specific blood test result that indicates a possible infection with Salmonella Typhi, the bacteria that causes typhoid fever. A titer of 1:80 suggests a moderate level of antibodies against the bacteria in your blood. This result is commonly seen in individuals with typhoid fever. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and treatment. The recommended treatment for typhoid fever usually involves antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin or Azithromycin, taken for a specific duration under medical supervision.

I just got my dad's blood test report and it says IGG is negative, IGM is positive, and the NS1 antigen is negative. I'm kind of worried and wondering, does this mean he might have Dengue virus? Could you help me understand these results?
