Hi doctor, tomorrow my hysterectomy is scheduled and in the pre operative blood test report thyroid has been detected. The doctor advised me to take Thyroxin 50 before coming to the hospital tomorrow. I also take Olmighty 20 mcg daily for hypertension. Could you please suggest if it is a normal procedure to take the thyroid medicine? I am too stressed about it. Any help would be appreciable. Thank you.

It is normal to start Thyroxine before surgery if thyroid levels are abnormal. It helps stabilize metabolism during and after surgery. Continue Olmighty as well. Inform surgical team about both medicines.

Please suggest how to control it? she is taking Lenangio 20 mg, which cannot be given together with thyroid medication. For thyroid, she is taking Neo Mercazole 10 mg daily. Hi. I have not been taking any medicine for the last two days. Before that, I missed Thyroxine for a week, then took it for two days. Now, for the last two days, I have not taken anything. I have attached my report. Why does it look normal? Am I normal or should I be taking the medicine? Just to let you know, I got my test done 2 years back and the doctor suggested me to take 100 mg of Thyroxine. I will be visiting my doctor on Monday but thought of asking here.
