Hi, My HCG levels initially increased by 136 percent but then the rise slowed, though the values are still increasing by only about 300 mIU. My LMP was on 14th May. On 23rd June, a blood test was negative. On 5th July, a urine test was positive. HCG levels were as follows: 7th July: 757 9th July: 1787 12th July: 2078 17th July: 2328 A scan on 6th July did not show a gestational sac, but a cyst was diagnosed on the right ovary. Please advise what this could indicate.

Your HCG is rising but slower than expected, which may indicate a non viable or ectopic pregnancy. A cyst on the ovary could be a corpus luteum, which is normal in early pregnancy. Since no sac was seen, repeat a Transvaginal Ultrasound and Serum HCG after 48 hours to check pregnancy location and viability. Consult your doctor urgently if you have pain or bleeding.
