Hi, my wife has been having a urine infection for the last 2 to 3 days, and the burning sensation is not subsiding. We started her on Alkasol, and she took 2 to 3 doses, but the burning sometimes improves and sometimes comes back. A week ago, she had a severe throat infection for which she took antibiotics and cold medicines after consulting a doctor. During that time, we did almost all tests, including urine culture, urine routine, CBC, and dengue profile, but almost everything was negative, except a slight positive result in urine routine, and the culture was normal. Please advise what to do now?

Persistent burning during urination may suggest incomplete resolution of UTI or irritation from antibiotics. If the urine culture was negative, it could be a non bacterial or post antibiotic irritation. Continue Alkasol + 2 to 3 liters water daily. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, repeat urine routine + culture, and consider a mild urinary antibiotic like nitrofurantoin (only if prescribed). Consider getting a Pelvic Ultrasound done to rule out the cause of UTI.
Dr. Rohinipriyanka Suggests...
Take a URINE ROUTINE + CULTURE SENSITIVITY Test or Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test

View allSir, I would like to test my urine to check information about my liver, kidney, and blood sugar, as I have a Railway ALP medical examination in one month. I want to get these tests done beforehand. Could you please advise where and how I should get these tests done, the best approach, and the approximate cost?

My blood sugar was around 342 (average of the last three months), and because of this, I have been having a burning sensation while urinating for the past two months. I have already started medications for blood sugar. As per my last check, my fasting blood sugar was 89, and the average of the last three months with medication is 250. Hence, the medicines are working, but I am not getting relief from the burning sensation. I am taking Neftas as suggested by my doctor, and I feel fine while on it, but after 3 to 4 days of stopping Neftas, the burning sensation returns. Please suggest what I am missing and why I am having this issue repeatedly?

Hi Sir, I am suffering from frequent urination. When I drink 2 glasses of water then in 2 hours I go for urination 4 times. Also when I do not drink water then I feel to urinate at very short intervals and the urine amount is very low. What should be the gap between two urinations? Please suggest me what to do? Please see my report also?
