I am 29 years old and have had fever, cold, and cough for the past five days. I visited our family doctor, who prescribed medicines, but there has been no major improvement. She advised me to do some blood and urine tests. My report is as follows: SGPT: 26, CRP: 9, Hb: 13.6, TC: 5730, Neutrophils: 73, Lymphocytes: 20, ESR: 10, Platelets: 177,000, MP: Not Seen. Urine: pH 6.5, Protein: Nil, Sugar: Nil, BP: Nil, Pus: Nil, RBC: Nil. I also have a vitamin B12 deficiency, and the doctor prescribed Autrin 30 capsule. My RBC count is 4.65, showing mild macrocytosis. I want to know if my vitamin B12 deficiency is the reason I am experiencing cold, cough, and fever.

Cold, cough, and fever are usually due to infections, not B12 deficiency. Your CRP is mildly raised, suggesting low grade inflammation. Vitamin B12 deficiency may explain mild macrocytosis but not your current illness. Continue Autrin and monitor symptoms.

Take a CRP Test (C - Reactive Protein) Test or Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test

My father received the Covaxin vaccine on 3rd April. For the past 15 days, he has had a fever ranging from 99 to 101F, which is partially relieved with Crocin. COVID antigen and RTPCR tests were negative. He is also experiencing shortness of breath (28 breaths per minute). His recent blood reports show: RBC: 2.1 million/microlitre Hemoglobin: 9.2 g/dl WBC: 14.4 by 10000/microlitre CRP: 217 Serum creatinine: 3.21 mg/dl Iron: 24 microgram/dl Bilirubin direct: 0.6 mg/dl Urine report is normal, with no pus or abnormalities, and he has no issues while passing urine. Could his continuous fever, shortness of breath, and anemia be due to kidney problems? Please advise what could be causing these symptoms and the next steps for evaluation and treatment.

I have been on various DMARDs over the past few years. Initially, I took HCQS 400 for about one year, then Mexate 10 to 20 mg weekly for nearly another year, followed by Folitrax 20 mg weekly for one year. Currently, I am on Rumalef 10 mg daily. Could you please suggest which medicines might be best suited for me now? My recent test report shows, GMS is nil, Stc is 0, TTC is 14, PEI is 334, SGOT/SGPT is 26/34, and CRP is 503.

I have had a fever for the past 5 days, around 101F in the morning and night, along with body pain and cough. I have been taking antibiotics and Dolo, but the fever is not going away. My recent blood test shows a C reactive protein (CRP) level of 46. I have attached my report for your review. Could you please check it and advise if something is wrong and what I should do next?
