I am a 30 year old healthy male and have been experiencing some joint pain. My recent test results are as follows: ASO is 199 IU/ml, RA factor is 2.1 IU/ml, Hemoglobin is 14.7 gm, TSH is 1.53 IU/ml, Fasting Plasma Glucose is 98 mg/dl, and Uric Acid is 7.7 mg/dl. I would like to know if I need to start medication for uric acid, or if it can be managed with lifestyle changes.

ASO suggests recent streptococcal infection. Uric acid is borderline. Start lifestyle changes and repeat Uric Acid after 1 month. Also check CRP and ESR for inflammation.
Dr. Yusuf Suggests...
Take a Uric Acid Test Test or Take a CRP Test (C - Reactive Protein) Test

View allMy elder sister has high ESR 56 and serum uric acid 6.09. She has pain in her bones and is feeling very uneasy as if something is suffocating her. She is normally a strong person but I heard her cry so I can understand she is having a lot of difficulty. Can someone please suggest what should we do? In this corona time how can we get her treated? I have attached her blood report for reference. Thank you in advance for your guidance.

I previously had intense pain in my legs and joints. After consulting a doctor, I was diagnosed with high uric acid (7). I took medicines regularly for a month and repeated the test today, the result is 6.1, but I understand it should be below 6. Could you please suggest what medicines may be needed and what foods should be included or avoided to help maintain uric acid levels? The patient is also taking medicines for diabetes.
