Three days ago, I strained my tricep muscles during heavy exercise at the gym. There is swelling around both elbows, and I am unable to bend my arms. I took a Creatine Kinase Serum test on Sunday from a private lab. Today, I consulted an orthopedist, who advised me to avoid heavy exercise for 4 to 6 weeks and prescribed painkillers and anti inflammatory tablets. After returning to work, I received my blood test report, which shows a CK level of 20,000 U/L, which is extremely high. Should I inform my doctor immediately about this report, or just continue following the previous advice? How serious is this condition?

Hi I am 31 years old and have been suffering from muscle pain especially in the buttocks and thigh area for the past three years. I have visited a general physician as well as an orthopedic specialist and they considered deficiency of vitamin B12 and D3 but my latest blood report shows both are in the normal range. The orthopedic surgeon advised physiotherapy sessions to reduce tightening of the hamstring muscle but even after this there is no improvement. Could you please suggest what may cause this type of muscle pain and what type of doctor I should visit to explore other possibilities. Please suggest?

Your symptoms do not strongly suggest kidney disease since your tests were normal. Cramping with rashes may point to muscle issues, skin allergy, or even mild nerve irritation. If it is persistent or worsening, a clinical exam is needed.
