I got this boil on my nose about two weeks ago. At first, it was just a red bump, but then it filled up with pus. It wouldn't pop on its own, so I decided to pop and drain it yesterday. Now it's all red and swollen. What should I do now?

Your healthcare provider may perform a physical exam, take a sample of the infected area, or order imaging tests to confirm the diagnosis. If left untreated, staph infections can lead to serious complications, such as sepsis, a life-threatening condition that occurs when the infection spreads to your bloodstream.
