I had a mucocele removed by minor surgery 4 months ago but now there's a red spot left. It doesn't hurt but I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should see a specialist. Which type of doctor is best for checking this? Could it be dangerous if left untreated?

Post-mucocele red spot may be normal scar tissue; if persistent, show to oral surgeon or ENT—low risk, but evaluation helps rule out recurrence.

My tooth hurts off and on and my dentist says there's another tooth growing under it that needs surgery. Is surgery the only way to fix this or are there other options I can try first? I'm a bit nervous about going under the knife.

It's understandable to be hesitant about dental surgery. While surgery might be necessary to remove a tooth that's impacted or causing problems, there are also other options to explore before committing to surgery. Depending on the tooth's position, severity of pain, and potential complications, a dentist might recommend a non-surgical approach first, such as pain management or observation

I've been chewing gutkha for about 5 years and noticed an ulcer on the gum near my upper wisdom tooth a month ago. I stopped the habit for two weeks and the ulcer healed, but theres still a skin growth at the jaw joint and pain when I open my mouth. I visited a surgical oncologist who mentioned it might be a premalignant condition like leukoplakia with white discoloration. I was told to stop chewing entirely and given some supplements and a mouthwash. The tenderness mostly went away after 23 days, but now the pain at my wisdom tooth gum has returned. Do you think theres a high chance of this turning into cancer?

My blood pressure is around 115/86 to 130/91 is it safe for me to get my impacted wisdom tooth removed? I'm a bit worried about the surgery with these readings, what do you think?

Many authors debate on this, but a general rule is that if the systolic blood pressure is over 179 and diastolic blood pressure is over 109, any dental procedure and surgical procedures become risky. So, 180/110 is the cutoff for any oral surgical procedure
