I had a right side inguinal hernia mesh repair surgery 3 years ago and now I've developed a new hernia on the left side. I'm considering another mesh repair but I'm worried about hernia recurrence after mesh surgery. Does having mesh repair increase the chances of the hernia coming back compared to other types of repairs? What's the likelihood of recurrence with a second mesh surgery?

View allI've had a lump on my chest for a few months now, and it's pressing on my esophagus because sometimes I have trouble swallowing food. It feels like it's right under the skin, maybe on the middle chest bone at the bottom. It's about an inch in diameter, soft, moving, and not painful. Im wondering if it could be a Lipoma since I have other similar lumps on my arms and thighs that haven't caused problems. I haven't been able to see a doctor in person yet because of Covid. Do you think this is likely a benign, noncancerous tumor? Any advice or suggestions would be really helpful.

Had left side indirect inguinal hernia surgery last June and now getting back into weightlifting and core exercises. Is it safe to start or could this increase the risk of the hernia coming back?
Yes, it's generally safe to resume weightlifting and core exercises after hernia surgery, especially after a laparoscopic repair, but it's crucial to do so gradually and under the guidance of your surgeon. Starting too soon or with improper technique could increase the risk of recurrence or complications.
