I have an 11mm kidney stone in my upper pole and need laser surgery to remove it. I really don't want to be put to sleep for the procedure can I just get local anesthesia instead?

So, I'm a bit worried about my 7-month-old son. He's got hydronephrosis in his left kidney and there's this PUJ obstruction. The doctor is saying he might need surgery.
