I have been advised by my gynecologist to get a thyroid profile test and a serum prolactin test because my periods are not regular. I have also undergone a scan, which came out normal. I want to know if alcohol consumption will be detected in these tests.

No, alcohol is not detected in a thyroid profile or serum prolactin test. These tests are only used to check your hormone levels, especially since your periods are irregular. A normal scan is reassuring, and these tests will help your doctor decide if your hormones are playing a role. You can safely book and take the tests without worrying about alcohol being traced.

Kindly suggest the medicine level. My current dose of Eltroxin is 75 microgram. How are my test report results? Any advice or new medicine recommended?

My mother has had thyroid issues for a long time and she takes her medicine regularly. She works a lot at home but is still unable to reduce her weight. She has rheumatoid arthritis and because of it, she is unable to do exercise or any extra outdoor activity to reduce weight. Painkillers have side effects on her, so she is now taking Ayurvedic medicines for pain relief. Recently, I had her general health test done through 1mg. Her thyroid was slightly high and her WBC count was elevated, but not to the extent that needs immediate medical attention. She is coping well, but there are some gaps in her healthcare. She has visited different doctors, but things are still not improving. I am unable to find a correct doctor for her so that we can take proper care of her health?
