I have this really bad fungal infection on the head of my penis. I used undiluted Dettol to wash it a couple of times, and now it's burned my skin pretty badly. The skin's peeling off, and I'm noticing some rashes now. Could you please give me some advice on what to do?

Using undiluted Dettol on sensitive skin can cause severe irritation, burns, and peeling.

Immediate Care

1. Stop using Dettol: Immediately discontinue using Dettol or any other harsh soap on the affected area.
2. Clean the area gently: Wash the penis head with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.
3. Apply a topical antibiotic cream: Over-the-counter (OTC) creams like Neosporin or Bacitracin can help prevent infection and promote healing.
4. Use a soothing cream: Apply a cream or gel containing aloe vera, hydrocortisone, or calamine to help soothe the skin and reduce inflammation.

Treatment for Fungal Infection

1. Antifungal creams: OTC creams like clotrimazole (Candid-B) or miconazole (Micatin) can help treat fungal infections.
2. Oral antifungal medications: If the infection is severe or persistent, your doctor may prescribe oral antifungal medications like fluconazole (Diflucan).

Managing Rashes and Peeling Skin

1. Topical corticosteroids: OTC creams or ointments containing hydrocortisone can help reduce inflammation and itching.
