I recently found out that my aso titre came back positive in a test my doctor ordered because I've been having joint pains. I've looked up some information online about what aso is, but I'm still unsure about how it develops, the reasons behind it, and what effects it might have on my body. Is this something I should be really worried about?

Burning Sensation around the Anus

Possible Causes

  1. Anal fissures: Small tears in the anal lining can cause burning pain.
  2. Hemorrhoids: Swollen veins in the rectum or anus can lead to burning sensations.
  3. Anal abscesses: Infected pus-filled pockets near the anus can cause pain and burning.
  4. Proctitis: Inflammation of the rectum lining can cause burning pain.

Immediate Relief

  1. Warm water baths: Soak in warm water for 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a day.
  2. Stool softeners: Take stool softeners like psyllium husk or methylcellulose to ease bowel movements.
  3. Pain relief creams: Apply topical creams or ointments containing lidocaine or hydrocortisone.

Medical Consultation

  1. Consult a doctor: Visit a gastroenterologist, proctologist, or primary care physician for a proper diagnosis.
  2. Get a physical exam: A digital rectal exam (DRE) and visual inspection can help identify the cause.

Please Note

  1. Don't delay medical attention: Burning sensations and pain around the anus can be symptoms of underlying conditions that require medical attention.
  2. Avoid self-medication: Refrain from taking medications without consulting a doctor, as they may mask symptoms or worsen the condition
