I take 50 mcg/day thyroxine sodium tablets. My recent test report shows T3 1.06 ng/ml (normal range 0.6 to 1.81), T4 9.90 microgram/dL (normal range 3.2 to 12.6), and TSH 8.01 microIU/mL (normal range 0.35 to 5.5). The test was done according to CLIA. Should there be any change in the dose of thyroxine?

TSH above 5.5 indicates under treatment. You may need dose increase. Please confirm with Free T3, Free T4, and discuss with your endocrinologist.

Hello, I had hypothyroidism during my pregnancy with TSH 11.5, and my gynecologist suggested taking 100 mcg of Thyronorm (while I had been taking 75 mcg before). Now, post delivery, my TSH value is 0.014, which seems like hyperthyroidism. Can you please tell me if this is dangerous and what the cause might be? My calcium levels are borderline low, and my vitamin D levels have also decreased. Will this affect my baby (2.5 months old) as I am breastfeeding? My gynecologist, after looking at my report, changed the Thyronorm dosage from 100 mcg back to 75 mcg. How frequently should I do a thyroid test, and is there anything I need to worry about? Can my pituitary gland become normal post pregnancy?
