I was diagnosed with geographic tongue in July 2019. My Vitamin B12 was low, and I took medicines for that, but the geographic tongue did not go away. I also had burning while urinating, which was diagnosed as chronic prostatitis, and I was given multiple courses of antibiotics. Currently, I am facing skin itching that was diagnosed as chronic urticaria. I do not get hives; the skin just turns red and then becomes normal after some time. I was advised to take Levosiz 5 mg, which relieves the itching for 2 to 3 days, but the problem comes back, so I need to take the medicine repeatedly. Recently, I was advised to get my thyroid profile checked. My T3 and T4 are normal, but TSH is 22.46. My HbA1c is 6.2, ESR is 7, TLC is 5.21, and RBC is 5.30. I started thyroxine 50 mg two weeks ago. My age is 36 and my weight is 93 kg. Could you please suggest what should be done next, and which specialist I should consult?

You have multiple chronic issues geographic tongue, chronic urticaria, and hypothyroidism (TSH 22.46). The itching may be linked to thyroid or allergy. HbA1c of 6.2 shows borderline sugar levels. Continue Thyroid Profile monitoring and consider checking IgE levels and Vitamin D. You should consult an endocrinologist for thyroid and sugar, and an allergist or dermatologist for urticaria and skin itching. Weight loss will also help long term.

How often do you do a blood test in hypothyroidism?
Answered by Apollo Doctors
Hi, my recent report shows that my TSH level is 0.32. I am taking Thyronorm 75 mcg daily in the morning, but my thyroid level is still low, and my weight continues to decrease. Could you please advise on what should be done next? Thank you.
