I was worried that I might have been exposed to COVID, so I used a liquid sanitizer on my nostrils out of fear. Now I can't smell or taste anything. I'm worried it's permanent. Is there a chance my sense of smell will come back?

Your concern about losing smell and taste after using a liquid sanitizer in your nostrils is understandable. Here's what you should know:
-
Possible Cause: Using sanitizer inside the nostrils can irritate or damage the delicate lining responsible for smell.
-
Chance of Recovery: In many cases, the sense of smell can return over time as the nasal tissues heal, but the timeline varies.
-
When to Seek Help: If the loss of smell and taste persists beyond a couple of weeks or worsens, it's important to consult a healthcare professional.
-
Avoid Further Irritation: Refrain from putting any chemicals or irritants inside your nose.
-
COVID-19 Consideration: Since loss of smell and taste is also a symptom of COVID-19, consider getting tested if you haven't already.
If symptoms continue, an ENT specialist can evaluate you and suggest treatments or therapies to aid recovery. Remember, healing can take time, so try to stay patient and avoid further nasal irritation.

View allI've been using Waxonil ear drops because I thought it would help the earwax come out, but the wax just isn't coming out and now it feels like my ears are blocked. What could be happening, and what should I do next?
Yes, in most cases, the loosened ear wax should come out on its own after using Waxonil ear drops. Waxonil ear drops soften ear wax so it can run out naturally without harming the ear. so it will takes some time if your wax is so hard to become soft if after 3-4 days doesnt come consult ent surgeon for wax removal procedure

I've had surgery on my ear because there was this small hole, and before that, my ear kept getting wet. It's been 15 days since the surgery, and everything seemed fine, even though I had this heartbeat sound in my ear for the first 45 days. After 8 days, they took the dressing off, and it all seemed normal. But now, on the 14th day post-surgery, there's this non-stop vibrating noise in my ear. Does this mean my surgery didnt work as it should have? It was okay for over two months, and now this. What could be going on?
After surgery such as tympanoplasty it is common to have symptoms such as your for atleast three weeks. It is not really abnormal. Complete recovery and healing may take upto three months. Unless pus starts coming out of your ears, you need not worry much

I've been dealing with puberphonia and voice therapy didn't help me much when I tried it a few months back. I'm thinking about surgery now and want to find a good ENT throat surgeon in Chennai who can do this procedure in the next few months. Any recommendations or advice on what to expect?
