I'm 20 years old and just had a lipid profile done. The results are attached here. Is it okay to take krill oil and atorvastatin 5 mg together after dinner? I'm a little concerned and would love your advice!

  1. Understanding Your Lipid Profile Results

    • Without specific values, it's hard to assess your lipid profile. Generally, LDL should be low, HDL high, and triglycerides within a normal range for a healthy young adult male.
  2. Safety of Taking Krill Oil and Atorvastatin Together

    • Krill oil may help improve lipid levels. Atorvastatin lowers cholesterol. They can be taken together, but consult your doctor for personalized advice.
  3. Recommendations and Precautions

    • Always consult a healthcare provider before combining supplements and medications. Monitor lipid levels and liver function regularly.
  4. When to Seek Medical Advice

    • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience unusual symptoms like muscle pain, dark urine, or jaundice.
  5. Relevant Medical Specialties and Tests

    • Consider seeing a cardiologist or lipid specialist. Regular tests like liver function and lipid profiles are recommended for ongoing monitoring.

I'm a bit confused about my prescription. The doctor mentioned something about Prolomet XL R 50mg5mg. Is that the same as saying Prolomet XL 50mg and Prolomet R 50mg5mg? I'm not certain if he wants me to take XL or just R. Could you help me understand the difference?

It is the combination medication , prolomet xl r 505 mg is the medication.

I'm really concerned about my mother. She had four stents put in her heart last week, around the RCA and PLVLADRI areas, and seemed to be doing okay after the angioplasty. But then she started having atrial fibrillation, and the doctor gave her nordam and an amiodarone injection, which helped for a couple of days. But after we got home, she's been feeling dizzy and seeing black spots. Now she's on amiodarone 200 mg tablets twice a day and some anti-anxiety meds, but her heart rate is still 150 bpm. Is this normal? How common is it to have arrhythmia like this after angioplasty, and how long might it last? I'm worried if this is our new normal, and if there's a chance that atrial fibrillation after angioplasty comes with any risks?

The treatment your mother is receiving is appropriate for atrial fibrillation post-angioplasty. Amiodarone 200mg tablet twice a day is commonly used to control heart rhythm. In addition to that, anti-anxiety medication can help manage symptoms related to anxiety and dizziness. A heart rate of 150 bpm is considered high, and the medications prescribed aim to bring it back to a normal range. Atrial fibrillation can occur after angioplasty, and it is not uncommon. The risk associated with atrial fibrillation post-angioplasty includes an increased risk of stroke and other cardiovascular complications. It is essential to monitor and manage atrial fibrillation to reduce these risks. The duration of atrial fibrillation can vary from person to person. In some cases, it may resolve on its own, while in others, long-term management may be required. Regular follow-up with the doctor is crucial to monitor the heart rhythm and adjust treatment as needed. Overall, the treatment your mother is receiving is appropriate for atrial fibrillation post-angioplasty. It is essential to continue following up with her doctor for further evaluation and management.

I'm feeling really puzzled and a bit worried about these weird symptoms I've been having. My chest feels heavy on and off, and even though I've had loads of tests like ECG, echo, holter, TMT, and even a C-reactive protein test, everything came back normal. But then there's this pain in my arms and legs, with the left side feeling worse. In the last couple of days, I've also had some breathlessness. Eating and sleeping seem fine. There are these very brief chest pains that feel like an electric shock, just for a second. I've been trying to keep active by walking 5 km daily, but sometimes I find it hard because I get out of breath. What could be going on with me?

echo and angiography is advised,, cardiac opinion
