I'm a 29-year-old woman with protruding upper front teeth that I want to straighten and align with my lower teeth before my wedding next year. I'd prefer not to wear braces is surgery an option for fixing this? If so, what would the cost be and what risks should I consider? How noticeable would the results be after the procedure?

View allI have buck teeth or protruding upper teeth that make it hard to close my lips naturally, leading to mouth breathing, snoring, and bad breath. I don't want braces because they take too long and are painful. I've heard about smile treatment and jaw surgery can you give me an idea of the average cost for these options? I know prices vary by city and doctor, but a rough estimate would help me decide if I can afford it. I can only see doctors in Visakhapatnam or Hyderabad. Not self-treating, just trying to understand my options better. Attached a pic for reference though the clarity isn't great.
For correcting protruding teeth (also known as "buck teeth" or overbite), both "smile treatment" and jaw surgery are possible options, but they are not the same thing. Smile treatment typically refers to cosmetic dentistry, like veneers or orthodontics (braces), while jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) is a more invasive procedure to reshape the jaw itself. The cost for each will vary greatly based on the complexity of the case and the clinic. Braces, even clear aligners, are generally less expensive than jaw surgery.

I have a gap in my upper front teeth and went to see an orthodontist. They said braces alone might not fully fix it and suggested maxillofacial surgery could be an option. I really want a nice smile what would you recommend for my situation?
Maxillofacial surgery is an option for a gap in your front teeth if braces alone won’t fully address it. It depends on your specific jaw alignment. Consult with an orthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon to see if surgery is necessary.

My lower jaw sticks out and I'm worried about it is this something that needs major surgery or can it be fixed with a minor procedure? What are my treatment options?
A protruding lower jaw, or prognathism, can be corrected through various treatments, ranging from minor procedures to major surgery, depending on the severity of the issue. Orthodontics like braces or appliances can address mild to moderate cases. More severe cases, where the jawbone itself is misaligned, typically require orthognathic surgery, also known as corrective jaw surgery, which involves repositioning the jawbones.
