I'm a 57-year-old man and I've just been diagnosed with high blood pressure. My doctor has prescribed telmisartan 40mg once daily. I'm wondering how long it might take for my blood pressure to get back to normal levels. Should I be concerned if there aren't any immediate changes?

View allI've been noticing this weird movement in my chest right above the breast, almost like something's trying to burst out. When it happens, it's tough to breathe and my heart seems to race. I've been dealing with this for years, but recently it's getting much more intense. It can happen at any time whether I'm just lying down or walking around. Could you help me understand what's going on?
