I'm 9 weeks and 2 days into my pregnancy and just found out my baby's heart rate is 128. Is this something I should be worried about? I'm currently taking folic acid and progesterone.

My girlfriend and I are really worried. Her last period started on March 1st and we had unprotected sex on March 17th. She took an emergency contraception pill just three hours after. Now, weeks later, she's missed her period, and we've taken three pregnancy tests, which all came back positive. She's also been experiencing stomach cramps, lower back pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting. What should we do?

Sounds like your girlfriend may be experiencing symptoms of early pregnancy. The stomach cramps, lower back pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting are common symptoms during the early stages of pregnancy. For nausea and vomiting, she can take Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 25mg three times a day. For stomach cramps and lower back pain, she can take Acetaminophen 500mg every 6 hours as needed for pain. It is important for her to stay hydrated and eat small, frequent meals to help with the symptoms. I recommend consulting with an obstetrician for further evaluation and management of her pregnancy.

I'm really anxious about making sure everything's safe before getting married and I want to be extra careful about not getting pregnant right now. Could you give me some advice on what precautions we should take? And, just in case, if I do end up getting pregnant, what should I do next? I'm really looking for some guidance here.

For premarital safe sex and pregnancy prevention, consider the following: use condoms (malefemale) consistently and correctly, explore other contraceptive methods like birth control pills, patches, rings, or IUDs after consulting a healthcare provider; if pregnancy occurs unintentionally, options include: 1) continuing the pregnancy and preparing for parenthood, 2) adoption, or 3) medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) within the legal timeframe and under medical guidance; prioritize open communication, mutual respect, and informed decision-making with your partner.
