I'm really concerned about my dad who has bronchial asthma. He's on tablets and uses a respiratory spray. We're thinking about getting a dog and I'm worried if that'll affect him in any way. His condition isn't too severe and he rarely experiences heavy breathing, but his PFT test interpretation showed severe obstruction. Right now, he's using Formoflo Inhaler. Could having a dog make his condition worse?

I'm really worried about my dad. He's 76 and has been dealing with COPD for 7 years. Just recently, he had a secondary infection causing respiratory failure type 2. At the moment, he's on 0.5 O2 to keep his oxygen level at 94. His latest abc report shows pco2 at 40 and po2 at 66. Besides COPD, he only has thyroid issues. I'm concerned about his life expectancy after this episode. Can you give me an idea if he might have 6 months, 1 year, or even 5 years left?
