I'm a bit concerned because my body temperature is 98.3 F. Does this mean I have a fever? I'm especially worried because of the covid situation. Could you please let me know if this is something to be concerned about?

Black Stool and Throat Pain in a Thyroid Patient

Possible Causes

  1. Thyroid medication side effects: Certain thyroid medications, such as levothyroxine, can cause gastrointestinal symptoms, including black stools.
  2. Gastrointestinal bleeding: Black stools can be a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding, which may be related to thyroid disease or medication.
  3. Iron supplements: If you're taking iron supplements, they can cause black stools.
  4. Throat pain: Throat pain can be related to thyroid disease, especially if you have hypothyroidism.

What to Do

  1. Consult your doctor: Inform your doctor about the black stools and throat pain. They may adjust your thyroid medication or recommend further testing.
  2. Get a complete blood count (CBC): To rule out gastrointestinal bleeding or other underlying conditions.
  3. Upper GI endoscopy: If your doctor suspects gastrointestinal bleeding, they may recommend an upper GI endoscopy.

Monitor Your Symptoms

Keep track of your stool color, throat pain, and any other symptoms. If you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood, or difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical attention.

Ive been taking gudcef plus for my typhoid, and Ive noticed I'm feeling unusually nervous, especially when I try to sleep. Could this be a side effect of the medication, or is it just because I'm sick?

My grandmother's been running a fever since this morning. It hit 102 earlier, dropped to 100 after we gave her an antibiotic, but then climbed back up to 102, and now it's at 101. She's also coughing heavily. Im not sure if this could be COVID since we haven't been traveling. Should we be worried and get it checked out, or maybe wait and see for a bit?
