I'm a bit worried as I just found out that my AG ratio in the liver function test is 1.41. I'm also dealing with psoriasis. Can you help me understand what this means and what steps I should take next?

An AG (AlbuminGlobulin) ratio of 1.41 is slightly below the normal range (1.5-2.5), indicating a possible imbalance in liver protein production or increased globulin levels; in the context of psoriasis, this could be related to chronic inflammation

I've been dealing with a fatty liver, and just a couple of months ago, my SGPT levels were at 96. Now, thanks to medication, they've dropped to 63. But now I'm concerned because my direct bilirubin has gone up to 0.6, whereas it was normal before. Should I be worried about this change in bilirubin, and does it mean anything serious about my liver condition or overall health?

Your SGPT levels have improved with medication, but your direct bilirubin has increased. This could indicate ongoing liver inflammation or damage. I recommend you continue with your current medication and also consider adding Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) to help improve liver function and reduce bilirubin levels. Make sure to follow up with your doctor for monitoring and further guidance.

Is it common to find a hard, painful lump in the analrectal region if someone has hemorrhoids? My girlfriend, who is 38, has this and she's going for a colonoscopy on Tuesday. How long does it usually take for this kind of lump to go away?

A hard, painful lump in the analrectal area can be a common symptom of external hemorrhoids, and it's usually a sign of a blood clot or thrombosis, which can be painful, but typically resolves on its own within 7-10 days, however, since your girlfriend is undergoing a colonoscopy, it's essential to discuss this symptom with her surgeon to rule out other possible causes and determine the best course of treatment.

I've had three endoscopies and the reports show a hiatal hernia. Right now I'm on Sompraz L and don't have burning sensations, but my chest feels really heavy and uncomfortable. The cardiologist checked me for chest pain and all tests even the chest X-ray came back normal with no heart issues. Still, the chest pain won't go away. Do I need surgery for the hiatal hernia or is there another way to manage this?

A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.
