I'm considering ICL surgery but I'm a strict vegetarian and worried about the collamer lenses from STAAR Surgical. I read online that they might be derived from animal sources is that true? If not, where do they come from? And is it possible to get ICL lenses that are 100% plant-based?

No, Collamer lenses used in STAAR Surgical's Visian ICL surgery are not derived from animal sources, and they are not 100% plant-based. They are a synthetic material that is specifically designed to be biocompatible with the eye and not derived from any animal products, though the lens does contain a small amount of purified collagen.

Certain individuals may experience visual disturbances or have underlying eye conditions that make multifocal lenses less effective or even contraindicated. Phacoemulsification (phaco) is a common and effective technique, but other options, like laser-assisted cataract surgery, offer different advantages for some patients

my right eye vision is 6/18 can it improve to normal naturally without glasses or surgery

A 6/18 vision (also known as 20/60) is considered significantly impaired, and it's unlikely to improve to normal (6/6 or 20/20) vision naturally without glasses or surgery. While certain practices can improve vision-related skills and reduce strain, they cannot alter the underlying refractive error causing the blurry vision.
