I'm dealing with ringworm in my groin, forehead, and near my eye. The one in the groin has been particularly persistent since I got pregnant 8 months ago, and it's just not going away. I havent taken any oral meds because Im breastfeeding my 8-month-old. I've been using Terbinaforce Plus Cream and Fintop Ebernet, but I'm worried they're not enough. What can I do? Is there something else safer to try while nursing?

Ringworm (Tinea) can be challenging to treat, especially while breastfeeding.

Current Treatment

Terbinaforce Plus Cream and Fintop + Ebernet are topical treatments that can help manage symptoms. However, the continuous presence of ringworm in your groin area suggests that the treatment might not be fully effective.

Additional Measures

  1. Maintain good hygiene: Wash the affected areas with soap and water, and dry thoroughly.
  2. Change clothes and bedding regularly: Prevent the spread of fungal spores.
  3. Avoid sharing personal items: Towels, clothing, and other personal items can spread the infection.

Breastfeeding-Friendly Oral Medications

Consult your doctor about oral medications that are safe while breastfeeding, such as:

  1. Griseofulvin: An antifungal medication that can be used while breastfeeding.
  2. Fluconazole: A single-dose oral medication that can be used to treat ringworm.

Consult a Doctor

Schedule an appointment with your doctor to discuss:

  1. Adjusting your treatment plan: Explore alternative topical treatments or oral medications.
  2. Ensuring the infection doesn't spread: Get guidance on preventing the spread of ringworm to other areas.

Remember to consult your doctor before making any changes to your treatment plan.
