I'm having some major issues with my left ear that are really affecting my sleep. I found out I have a middle ear infection and after going through a bunch of tests like X-rays, blood work, an echocardiogram, ECG, and a CT scan of the mastoid, my doctor is suggesting a major surgery. Can you tell me what this surgery is called? I'm also really worried about any health risks that might come with it.

I'm really struggling with a runny nose that's been going on for like a year now. Whenever I take citrazine, it works for about three days, but then the symptoms just come back.
